The Certificate III in Hospitality provides you the skills to work in a range of operational areas in the exciting Hospitality Industry. This dynamic industry is diverse and global offering opportunities in a range of service areas including restaurants, hotels, tourism and conference businesses.
This comprehensive program will give you invaluable training in bar work, high level food and beverage service, and coffee making (Barista). You will gain skills in customer service, cash handling and food safety. This program includes Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training which is required by law for all licensed venues including cafes, bistros and hotels.
The content areas within the course include; hygiene, health, safety and security, general administration, financial administration and Point of Sale (POS) technology.
Career Opportunities
Bar Attendant; Coffee Barista, Food/Drink Waiter; Cocktail Bar Attendant. Students should note that persons under 18 can be legally employed to serve alcohol. Career opportunities for Front Office (if offered) include: Guest Services Agent; Reservations Agent; Concierge; Front Desk; Night Clerk; Telephonist; Club Reception.
Entry Requirements
Completion of Year 10 is recommended. Students under 17 years of age must meet enrolment requirements as specified in the Education (General Provisions Act) 2006.

Program Articulation
Students who successfully complete SIT30707 Certificate III in Hospitality will receive credits towards study in the Diploma of Hospitality, or can articulate into the Diploma of Events.

We will work with you to identify your existing skills, and assess if you can then achieve a full or part qualification. This also helps to avoid unnecessary duplication of training, saving you time and money.
